I have 4 children, one adopted & 3 biological and it has gotten worse with each one!

Until hearing about "momnesia" I just though that they were sucking my brains out as they nursed! And dont even ask about the gray hair!

Seriously, I wonder if I will ever get some of the memory back or if it's gone for forever... someone needs to take that study a bit further and find out if there's hope for any of us!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3502918052107824559.post-22418228439261832362008-03-05T20:15:00.000-08:002008-03-05T20:15:00.000-08:00Proof that I have it- I can't remember a story!!Wh...Proof that I have it- I can't remember a story!!

When I was nursing, it was really, really bad.Melanie @ This Ain't New Yorkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17210688612707551402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3502918052107824559.post-7668665745972309202008-03-05T19:01:00.000-08:002008-03-05T19:01:00.000-08:00This happens to me a million times a day! My life...This happens to me a million times a day! My life often mirrors the "If You Give a _____ a _____" books by Laura Numeroff. I once put my 6 month old in the high chair. Realizing that he needed a clean bib, I went downstairs to retrieve one from the laundry. While I was there, I saw some clothes that needed to be stain treated and also noticed that I had forgotten to move a load from the washer to the dryer. Long story short, I got so sidetracked doing laundry that my poor little guy sat in his highchair, long forgotten, for about 30 minutes! The (Almost) Amazing Mammarinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15012729312630511289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3502918052107824559.post-3874381099221509192008-03-05T15:45:00.000-08:002008-03-05T15:45:00.000-08:00I have six kids, so you can imagine how bad my mom...I have six kids, so you can imagine how bad my momnesia is by now. :)

And I can't remember a story right now. Probably due to the momnesia. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3502918052107824559.post-43974932694462973142008-03-05T11:29:00.000-08:002008-03-05T11:29:00.000-08:00Yes, I do suffer from it and my excellent memory h...Yes, I do suffer from it and my excellent memory has never returned. I used to remember everything I needed including the dates, times, and locations of appointments a year out. Now I rely heavily on my Flylady calendar. If it isn't on there, I don't know about it.

Story...oh gosh, I have plenty. I forgot my son at home once when he was about 2. Fortunately, I had asked someone to watch my house (I expected a evicted renter to try to stop by while I was gone) but not my son. It worked out. I also tried to forget my youngest in the car. Fortunately, my daughter reminded me that I had a baby. I lose my keys constantly; once for 2 1/2 months. And should I ever put something away "in a safe place", it is as good as gone.

You aren't alone dear.JoAnnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06843337250225596454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3502918052107824559.post-85638950281925904542008-03-05T08:41:00.000-08:002008-03-05T08:41:00.000-08:00Huh? I used to say it was gray matter leaking out of my brain, because sometimes I felt really, really stoooopid. Oh, yes, I had momnesia.

Now I forget things, but this time around it's called 'menopause,' LOL!
One thing that helps me keep track of day-to-day things is My Ta-Da Lists, which is a free place you make up your own lists of things to do. It stores them for you, so they are always there. On my kitchen to-do list, I actually have things like "Feed the Ferrets." Not that I'd forget to feed them...but it could get to be afternoon before I went down to their cage. They sleep 20 hours a day, so it's okay. But I don't want to forget them, LOL!
I also keep all my bills in one spot next to my computer, and record them in a big notebook rather than a little check register. Makes it easier to see them and not forget to pay them.

Other than that, don't worry. I've been a mom for 25 years and although sometimes I feel dumb (and use Excellence by L'Oreal to cover the gray), I haven't gone completely senile. There is always hope for your brain--just be sure to exercise it, LOL!Mom2furhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09919967314390699344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3502918052107824559.post-13416048926066166512008-03-05T01:45:00.000-08:002008-03-05T01:45:00.000-08:00The topic of dicussion on local radio is Mumnesia!...The topic of dicussion on local radio is Mumnesia!
