Baby Got Some New Shoes

With Cookie's recent admission into the Walking Club of Baby America, it was time to buy that girl some new shoes. The shoe debate is right up there with the Milk debate of 2008. So many choices!

I recently found Pedipeds which I have really been impressed with. The baby shoe experts say that Pedipeds footwear is designed to be the "next best thing to bare feet." They allow children's feet to develop naturally and provide optimal support and protection during the developmental stages of babies' feet – from initial crawl to the first steps and beyond.

Cookie has been supporting the following pair for about a month now...

And of course I just couldn't resist getting these for the "three" cold days of winter we will have in TX...

You can find Pedipeds in your area by clicking here and for the thrifty shoppers here are a few coupon codes that I located.

With all of the comments from the Milk Debate 2008, I am sure that you guys have great advice on shoes as well and I would love to hear about them.

In the meantime Happy Shoe Shopping!

We bought our son the Robeez, because I honestly couldn't decide which ones I liked and there were a bunch of stores in our area that had different designs in stock. I want "the best" for him, but it also makes me sad that his shoes cost so much more than my Payless ones.

Adorable shoes!

I bought Isabooties for my little guy, and we loved them. They are very tough considering how soft they are, and they are WASHABLE! That was a huge bonus considering what he tended to walk through!

My 13 mo. son received a pair of Robeez, which were great, but not durable enough--he was scuffing right through the leather upper! Loved the design, though. Now he's sporting the $10 kind from Target. They have Robeez/Pediped look-alikes in the baby aisle (which I haven't tried), but the ones he's in now were in the regular shoe section on the end of the shoe aisles. Can't beat the price for how quickly they grow!

My son is in the pre-walking stage, and wore a pair of the Target knock-offs of Robeez all summer. Then he grew. And I panicked. Because I didn't want to spend $30 on a new pair of real Robeez for him because our Target inexplicably never had any style I'd put on him anymore.

Then I found a local boutique that sells all kinds of baby shoes. And puts them on 75% off at the end of every season. So I was able to buy a pair of REAL Robeez for less than I'd spend for knock offs at Target!

I'll be going back to get the boy some PediPeds after he's walking. And I'll have to get them there because our Target and Wal-Mart don't carry the PediPeds knock offs.

Check out See Kai Run. They only go up to toddler size 8 though. (From what I've been able to find.) Perfect once you are out of the Pediped/soft shoe stage. They are based here in Seattle, but I've found them in some boutique type places in other states.
